Passion of the Christ
Just seen it...
Probably the most disturbing representation of reality I have ever seen.
You have to be strong to watch it, that said you'll come out even stronger.
This is a film not for the faint hearted but a fantastic thought provocing and emotional roller coaster film.
IMO, nice work Mel. I await your next release.

i've not seen it yet, but knowing of his anti-sematic (sp?) beliefs I thought it would be on the same historic lines of Brave heart. ie. a load of bollox.
hopefully I'll get to see it this week sometime, but I'm pretty sure it'll be "The Gospel According To M.Gibson"

Being a Catholic it pretty much fell in line with what I was brought up to believe in...
Just give it a chance...
Hopefully you'll find it enjoyable in the same strange way I did.

I went to see it last night, and it certainly is not anti-semitic. It's not as violent as everyone says either, but when there is violence, it IS brutal.
Even though I am a confirmed athiest, I found the film to be very moving and powerful, not at all like the woeful Braveheart which was just a vehicle for Gibson. Being totally in Aramaic and Latin also added to it's authenicity and gritty historical feel.
I obvusouly don't believe al lthe stuff about the son of God and the resurrection, but Roman recoirds show they did give this guy a pretty hard time before he died. Anyone who suffered this deserves repsect and sympathy, no matter what you believe.
Don't listen to the press, go see it for yourself and make your own mind up.
