what would be faster??????
I have a friend who keeps saying how fast his megane is (1996 1.6 RT sport) and that hes had it to 120mph, which is obviously utter bollox. He is also wanting to race my car, to show off to his A.T.C. friends that he can beat me.basically being a bit of a dick about it.
so what i want to know is, would my car DEFFINATELY beat his of the lights to get him of his high horse?
I have a 2ltr straight6 stage 2 GT6, TR2000 g/b and j typr o/d. he's got a standard 1.6ltr megane.
I mean i know it looks pretty obvious but not everything works out on paper.

Would of thought you should win as yours is lighter, depends on how good your tyres are! my old 1500 Midget would beat something like this, doubt it would handle as well though!
In the end who really cares, you have a Britcish classic with power and character, he drives a run of the mill French car.

From Parkers:
1.6e RT 5d (96-96) 1598/4
90bhp, 114mph, 11.1s 0-60.
Insurance group 5
Any pics of your car Poor Guy? Sounds good to me. You managed to get classic insurance? A classic was something I thought about briefly, needed to be 21/25+ for classic insurance usually though.

Whether or not your car or his is faster off the lights.
You've got a characterful british classic which no doubt is fun to drive, looks cool, prolly be able to pull totty in.
Your mate has a dull bog standard small family hatch, looks crap, would only pull a right ol' minger etc.. Your mate thinks 11 secs+ to 60 is fast?!?!?!? He's obviously never been in anthing fast then.

mines laying down 120bhp ish.
Ill get some pics up when my friend sorts out his webspace. everyone thinks you have to be 21+ to get insured and are saying that i dont have insurance. you cant get classic insurance at 17. £750 aint bad at 17 TPFT 6000miles.

if he gives you **** just say yeah you could beat me in a race, but you drive a pufters car. I on the other hand drive a beast.
your 17, learn to handle your car before you go racing. and when you do keep it on the track.

Im will j4mou on this. Youve got a classic.
Same advice as above. Let him go on. Yours is worth far more in Value, and its going up all the time. His has only one way to go,and thats down. Easily answer . Tell him to grow up and sod off and join the MAX Power brigade. To many people been killed racing . Plus plod may catch you. . I certanly know which car i would sooner have

his car probably does 120, you could probably squeeze that out of a 1.3 fiesta (might take a while) but so fvcking what! Sounds like a right dick.
