Talking Evolution screwed up!

<rant mode>

Ok, 'pain' - what is THAT all about

The purpose of pain is surely to warn you that damage has been done or is being done to the body. I personallly feel its too fricking sensitive. You put your hand in a fire and it hurts like hell and continues to do so afterwards. Fair enough, fire will destroy skin and tissue very quickly so you need to know thats not too bright.

But mouth ulcers - WTF!!!! These things hurt like a ***** and for what purpose???? Hardly life threatening are they Surely a bit of mild discomfort would suffice so that you'd know you had one and to be extra vigilant with your oral hygiene. Then there are astro turf burns - ok so it hurts at the time and rightly so because like fire friction will damage skin/tissue but does it REALLY need to hurt so much days and days afterwards

have u ever thought that this stuff doesnt hurt other people that bad and you're just being a *****?

seriously tho.. i see what u mean in a way. but in another way, how many times exactly HAVE you put your hand in a fire? if it's only once... then the pain warning was obviously "worth it" from the body's point of view. if you've done it more than once, then the pain obviously wasnt enough

Its mind over matter. If you know that the injury causing the pain is not bad it is much easier to overcome the pain. I have been known to partake in a few drunken pain orientated party tricks involving needles right through hands, arms etc. If you know the anatomy of the body part in question (ie what bits to avoid!) the wound left is tiny and heals completely in days. If you know the out come is trivial then the pain becomes trivial. Its a good way to win money off sqeemish people too!

Its all down to understanding how your body works and interpreting what you are feeling.

Try it!

LoL no it wasn't. Not on this occasion neways. Saxo Boys is obviously missing a few buttons on his remote control, if you get what I mean, but he's brainy with it.
