Bit of an odd one but....
How the hell do you get a splinter out of the bottom of your foot, its only tiny but hurts like a bugger to stand on and its too small and far into grab with a pair of tweezers!
Suggestions welcomed

dig for victory- had a metal splinter in my foot last yr that was so painful it stopped me running, in fact I could hardly walk. Eventually got the thing out through determined needle work!

Or go to A & E or your local GP/Nurse. They'll do it for you if you can't.
Try soaking your foot in hot water for a while. It'll go crinkly if you leave it long enough and then you might find it easier to use the tweezers to grab it.

The painless method is to use Soap and Sugar.
When soap has been sat in water for a while it goes gooey (sp?)
Mix this with a bit of sugar and apply to the affected area.
Should force the litttle blighter out after an hour or so.
If not revert to the needle method

A blowtorch should do the trick or if you dont like that idea how about digging it out with a spade?
As for a usefull answer I agree with the sterilised needle approach and dig the little blighter out. Last time I had one I couldn't find a needle so used the sharpest kitchen knife in the rack and dug it out with the very sharp point

Sigh.. You guys forgot the No. 101 in parenting manual havent you? Redkop got the right idea. But I'd cut some cucumber in the bandage to moisten the skin around the splinter. Thats what momma used to do with me when I came back with a splinter.

Chainsaw?!
But seriously... if you've got a small, narrow necked glass bottle (like the sort that painkillers used to be sold in) put it in boiling/very hot water for a few mins. Once its heated up, empty the water out - being careful not to burn yourself [litigation avoidance mode!] and then place the open neck over the splinter. As the bottle cools down, a vacuum is formed which should hopefully draw the splinter out.
I admit that this sounds a bit far fetched, but I have used it several times sucessfully. It may take several attempts, and/or some final assistance with tweezers.
Good luck!

Loving all these wacky wives tales! Especially the ones involving the use of food products and other goodies that bacteria can feed on!
Dig it out with a sterilised needle or a small scalpel blade, its the only way!

Buy some mag sulphate from the chemists. Stick a lickle drop on a plaster using a match and cover up the splinter area with the mag sulphate covered part of the plaster. Leave it on for a day or two and remove the plaster and the splinter will be out.
