Data Protection Scam doing the rounds again
Just had a letter addressed to a trading name I use asking for £135 to register under Data Protection Act. Had a similar one a couple of years ago. IIRC registration is free anyway but these guys may just be on the legal borderline as they do the registration for you and I suppose can charge a fee for that. Company is Data Protection Agency in Rochdale so keep an eye open.
I did phone up my local trading standards to check. I phoned at ten to five but just got answerphone saying closed - office hours nine to five
