Why ? I've been pondering this after Gulf Air dumped me in Abu Dhabi for the day recently. Is Dubai more interesting than downtown AD ?

Because I have been asked by my dad to try and find him a good package holiday there, why is beyond me too.

Dubai is way better than Abu Dhabi for the holidaymaker. No comparison. Lived in Dubai in the 80`s for several years and go back quite a lot on business. Was there again last week. Their current projests include pams to build the world's largest indoor ski resort with several 5 star hotels and a corkscrewing piste!! Also tthe world's best water theme park.
Suggest you go in September if possible as they change rates dramatically in October.(As weather cools down then) In September you will be able to get one of the best Jumairah hotels for roughly $100 per night(right on the beach with every facility known to man!!)

Cheers dave for the re-assurance to behonest there are to many rumours going around and you need to speak to people who have been.

One of our friends went and apparently they had a load snow flown in in the middle of summer????
