Tough Guy Cross country race
anyone ever done it?
all the talk on exercise machines got me thinking about it- i did it about 9 years ago? maybe 8?
it was deemed the hardest ever year due to the snow....anyway- the guys i did it with i havent seen in years so wondered if the worlds small enough that someone here was there!
it was up north somewhere....anyway, doesnt matter- if you know it you'll know it!

Haven't done it, but I've had dealings with the chap who owns it. Without going into any libelous comments, personally speaking, I wouldn't touch him with a 10ft barge pole
The actual race is very challenging though, and IIRC, you run it for charity.

I done it in '99 and its bloody hard but very very good fun.
I ended up doing it in 2 hours and 45 mins, and then slept the entire of the next day.
tough guy
its and excellent event and i raised about £400 for charity.
I remember sitting there before the event started watching a load of officials going past with 12 pound sledges and asking one of the other competitors what they were doing, response was " oh, the stream is still frozen over so they are going to break it up a bit so we can run through! "
that and watching a dumb bunny RAF reg guy gettin blown out of the water filled crawl field by grapping hold of the electric wires above him with the infamous line of " it cant be THAT bad! " I LMFAO.
the Nettle Warrior event it worse, ended up with rashes all over the place.

I did it in 2001 when the water features were inches thick with ice - it was fecking brilliant I've since gone back to my fat boy ways but will do it again at some point. Next year? Hopefully.
If you are considering it - do it! And cross your fingers hoping for a cold one, it's better that way!!

i did it ealry '90's.
it snowed like mad so when we set off in 6 inches of snow we all started lobbing snowballs at each other and stuffing it down each others necks.....seem like a good idea at the time! not so clever 30 mins later when frost bite was setting in
i always remember finishing and trying to open a bottle of lucozade- my fingers where so cold it took me about 1hr to do it!
