My sister has just got a fixed penalty ticket in the post (think it was me driving past a camera safty van on a long straight clear road not built up and no side roads so it must be a real blackspot)
anyone have any info or links that might help my licence and insurance premium

Ok..... read this with joy.

Up unitil xmas last year I was a CAD Operator/ Product Designer for a comapny that builds and designs Speed Cameras. The same thing happened to me the second week I started workiing there.
After I paid up the money I spoke to one of my managers who use to work for Gatso many years ago. This is the man that intruduced Gatso to this country and he knows the laws around speed cameras inside out.

He told me that is if the van that did you in for speeding was not Visiable to you as you was driving along it does not count cuz by law are not allowed to catch people in this way.

secondly If they did not put signs up displaying speed cameras are being used at that time and day its does not count too. (a clear sign must be displayed.)

The Van being used Must have signs and stickers all over it to inform people it is a mobile speed camera van.

van is not allowed to be hidden in a field using a ZOOM len on camera.

Speed cameras are not allways calibrated therefor they are not spot on. I tested some speed cameras and they were way out. get that camer checked out.

Thanks you guys all very interesting.
On the day in question four of us used the car (me, mum, dad and sister)and we are not sure who was driving but the finger is being pointed at me but the offence was commited just round the corner from where we all work. So this morning I spoke to a magistrate I know and she said If your not sure whos driving tell the court that as there is now way of proving who was driving and the case would normally be dropped.

What do you all thik of this , any comments I will let you know how we get on

That is spot on.
If you keep passing the book round and round to each other there is no proof of the driver and they will have to call it quites.
I forgot to post this one plus I didnt know a few of you had the car that day.

I've seen some speed camera vans with the sign less than 20 feet from the camera!!!!!!!!!!!
