Fabulous viewing - remember most of those old boys will be in their 80's by now. 12 cylinders, 1500 bhp and no silencers a couple of feet away. D

I watched this last night - as soon as the narrator mentioned the instructors name brendon I knew who it was - he used to do some 2 bob show on the discovery channel called flightline, and he was a total prat in that too. What a poser.

I enjoyed it, it was great listening to the pilot who flew them in the BoB, something i never get bored of.

Brendan OBrien(i think it is OBrien) was cool as usual and funny.

Good show, nice to see some quality tv for a change

There were 2 fresh out of RAF training, and another 2 amatuers-one of these was an uber ponce - PMSL when they were all walking down the runway at the begging of the programme -3 of them wre just walking like normal blokes do - the uber ponce had his sleves rolled up and was mincing along like tom cruise, luckily he got flirted by brendan

Yea, the instructors were quick to weed out the 'fake' (with his tinted highlights and orange tan )

Of course had the general public been allowed to vote, Pop Idol style, no doubt he would have easily won the selection.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Was good to see the real live Geofrey Wellum, author of First Flight one of the youngest pilots there was. The book is very good.

Now reading Fighter Boys which is also a good read.

It's more exciting this week (if that's the right word). The combat descriptions are very vivid.

Mate, I work in the games industry. Trust me, that is the last thing I would want to do in my spare time. Spraying my rear spocket gold in preparation for the new chain - now that's a different matter....

UB

Forgot to add, you are missing an astoundingly interesting programme. If not for these guys there would be no computer games.

Interesting Combat footage.
You used to be able to up in Caroline Grace's Spitfire. It cost a fair bit if I remember. I expect she still takes people up.
I think she worked on the restoration with her husband who died towards the end and continued with the project as a tribute, if I remember rightly.
