I've sold the scoob, and need to transfer the docs to the new owner, and also take off my plate at the same time.

How would i go about getting the plate off. Because if i just get the v5 signed, they will send a new v5 to the new owner with my private plate still on it.

And if i go and take the plate off at the dvla, they will take the logbook off me , and then send me a new one

Any help appreciated as i'm baffled

Baffled me too.

So I took myself down to the DVLA REGISTATION OFFICE (effort) in Chester. I took all my docs, and acted daft, which Im really good at.

They held my hand and walked me through it all, all I did was sign my name on the bottom of a few docs.

Cheers, i think i'll get the new owner to sign the docs as if it was a straight sale, then get the tax disc off him and take the whole lot down there.

I had this problem. Went to chester on the last day of the month, a 3 hour wait later and I was told they couldn't swap the reg over because 1 letter was put down wrong on the MOT.I had to go all the way back home, get a new MOT for the car and go back again a few days later. Only a 1.5 hour wait this time. It all wound me up a bit.
So check all documents are correct and try to avoid the end of the month when people are going in just for road tax.
