Seeing as no-one else has done it just thought i'd mention the shooting of a colleague in Yorkshire.
I know we get knocked all the time on SN but the sight of this guys widow attending the scene of his murder should make all our doubters realise what we do is dangerous. This was a man who the day before was eating Christmas Dinner with his family, now he's dead.
It can happen to any of us at any time.
Surely now is the time for a proper debate amongst the powers that be about arming a fair percentage of police, my opinion is it is neccessary and will hopefully result in less incidents like this happening again.

1st. My sincere apologies and humble pie. Been working and didn't see the thread. Thought it was odd no-one had mentioned it.
2nd. CHAOS. Yes i'm a cop and guess what, I work in Manchester, so get your butt down to the South of the City, find me and i will give you a lesson in manners you sick, twisted little punk.

I don't think most people think it isn't dangerous but a lot of people wish more effort was put in to dealing with people like this guy before he shots some body and not hiding on a motorway bridge with a laser gun.
Very sorry for the loss of a Police officer certainly an unpleasant and difficult job I wouldn't want to do. The lack of support does in part stem from the way a large part of the adult population now experience oppression via the anti motorist policies and therefore as has been said before will lead to a lack of support to the Police force as people don't feel it is there to protect them or their property.
If you had to wait days for an officer to arrive after you have had property stolen with the knowledge that the Police officers have shown no interest in the case and only want to issue you with a crime number and therefore the chance of those personal belongings stolen being returned are zero may be you will understand that sense of frustration from the SN community. when they have to worry about car jackers and the security of their families because they own a 20K car yet every where there are endless numbers of speed camera's or speed trapping vans busy collecting money and removing licences for infringing limits set 30 years ago with no technical reasons and based on technology which has been surpassed to such and extent that there is no credibility in many limits.

Not all cops are bad, in fact the majority of police on our streets do a good job.Most people who moan about cops do so because they do their job well enough to have caught the moaners speeding or some such.
This thread contains serious issues. Even an idiot such as yourself must see that you fool.
I would have called you a complete idiot but I doubt their is anything complete about you as of the day you stopped developing in your mothers womb.

I have just applied for the police force, and this kinda thing really makes you wonder if its worth following that career route
I was totally shocked and gutted to hear of the incident, however it has not put me of doing it as a career in the slightest, if it is something that you are 100% sure that you want to do then go for it! Feel free to mail me if you want any help/advice, your only up the road from me as well.
