Seeing little Britain last night and Bo selecta tonight, I still think Little Britain is a bit hyped up compared to similar comedy.
No contest really, Bo selecta for me.
Any opinions?

I laugh occasionally at Little Britain.
I sometimes smile at Bo Selecta... rarely.
Little Britain is better IMHO but there have been better character based comedy shows in the past, The Fast Show for one!
We are straved of good comedies these days, I miss Yes Minster, Yes Prime Minister and Fawlty Towers! Oh no I have them on DVD.

both are grim. avid merrion and george dawes are funny in their little 30sec slots on their original shows but give them half an hour and they are poor....only ali G and david brent have been able to pull this off but at least they stuck to what they know....ricky gervais is a funny david brent but thats about it- one trick ponys should should to the trick they can do!

What about Monkey dust ?
Anybody watch this. I personally think this is the funniest of the 'new' comedies. Very dark and surreal but excellent.
In order I would say:
Monkey Dust
Bo Selecta
Little Britain
But I do find all three funny in there own way.
Anybody else think Little Britain is a cheap copy of 'league of gentlemen' ? Alot of the characters are similar especially the fat club woman (similar to the job club woman in league of gentlemen)

Monkey dust comes on BBC 3. Dont know if its on BBC 2..
Its animation type comedy. Next time its on is Saturday at 1.10 a.m and then Monday at 12.30 a.m. Very late but worth it
I cant beleive there isn't that much hype around Monkey Dust its far superior to Little Britain. Much more clever stuff and a lot less in your face.
Bo Selecta reminds me alot about Ali G. It was funny at first, then became tedious.
Where is Ali G now ? Seems so out of date (as Bo Selecta will be soon) Rememebr Ali G in the U.S Aiii, that bombed big time. He's not been back since.
Dont get me wrong I think Bo Selecta is very funny its just not eternal comedy. It will be forgotten 6 months from now 9all in my humble opinion)

in order:
League of gentlemen, series 1,2,3.
Bo selecta series 1
Little britain ( if only for the guy in the wheelchair "dat one" )
Bo selecta series 2 - not as good imho, elton & posh & becks not funny.
Monkey dust is very intruiging, need to be stoned to fully appreciate it.

Bo Selecta on now, first half, pi55in myself.
Fair point about the comedy having a short shelf life, funny now maybe not funny down the line
But wasnt Fawlty Towers 12 episodes and The Office normal run, 12 as well?
And anyway thats not comparing like for like. Bo Selecta and Little Britain are sketch shows. (And im certainly not comparing Selecta to fawlty towers or the office, both classics)
CAN SOMEBODY SWITCH OFF THE CANNED LAUGHTER!

I have never really watched League of Gentleman but AFAIK some of the same people are working on Little Britain, which may account for any similarities. Not sure if it is writer(s) or prosucer(s) but am pretty cure there is someone.
Personally I didnt get Bo Selecta at first, but have now actually watched it and most of the time find it hilarious.
Like others I find Little Britain a bit hit and miss too - some bits are very, very funny, others arent. They are doing another series so hopefully will drop some of the weaker characters.
For me Bo beats LB.
