Monitors at Boots sell from £64 upwards, though most are around £100.

On Ebay, there are loads of new ones going for around £25.

Here is an example

Is it worth paying the extra at Boots, or are these cheaper ones on Ebay ok?

I have a boots one and it seems pretty accurate. Some of the cheaper ones may not be and the worry that your BP is high might push it up anyway..... just a thought !

You can work out your blood pressure by stabbing an artery and measuring the height the squirt reaches!

Look for British Hypertension Society approval.

If you want some meat to chew try here: http://www.adaptcentre.ie/research/p...conference.pdf

I use an Omron M5-I (HEM-757A-E) about 10-20 times a day, it is very good and BHS approved.

Anything that's British Hypertension society approved is ok. Most need to be serviced/calibrated once a year or so. Omron is the most widely used make by doctors, so are probably the easiest to get calibrated. I believe that all of Omron's current range are BHS approved.
