I loved the Tears For Fears original of this song... but this version is sublime. What a great movie too.

If you've not heard it yet - listen out for it. It's a belter of a tune

all around me are familar faces
worn out places
worn out faces

bright and early for the daily races
going nowhere
going nowhere

their tears are filling up their glasses
no expression no expression

hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
no tomorrow
no tomorrow

and I find it kinda funny
I find kinda sad
the dreams in which I'm dying
are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
when people run in circles it's a very very
mad world
mad world

children waiting for the day they feel good
happy birhtday
happy birthday

and I feel the way that every child should
sit and listen
sit and listen

went to school and I was very nervose
no one knew me
no one knew me

hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
look right thourgh me
look right throuh me

and I find it kinda funny
I find kinda sad
the dreams in which I'm dying
are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
when people run in circles it's a very very
mad world

Ladbrokes have odds of 5 to 1 for it being the number one single!

Apparently Pop Idols have 3 to 1 on!

It might be worth a punt!

I'd *love* to see a quality song knock those useless idols off their perches at christmas.

The new version makes Coldplay sound like Cradle of Filth ... I thought it was a p1ss-take when I first heard it ...

sorry, but I think its a piece of self indulgent poncy cr@p, designed to appeal to a post 9/11, mainly US audience.

The original version had passion and a bit of conviction about it. The new version comes across as some liberal to55er who's been watching too much bad news on TV.....

there, I've said it.

I think both the film and the sogn are brilliant.

Where can I get different mixes of the song?

Dear 'Jackie'

What have they done to 'Mad World'? The Tears for fears version was and is absolutely fantastic. The Gary Jules comes across like depressed radiohead!

There are two versions on the official soundtrack CD plus one other.

I got all three from alt.binaries.sounds.mp3

ps - agree about the TFF version. In fact the whole Pale Shelter album is superb.
