Question

We have a slight condensation problem at home, so I would like to buy a decent de-humidifier.

Anyone have any recommendations?

I use the Ebac 2400E, it shifts quite a lot but if youve got double glazing its really difficult to shift it all, have a look here Ebac

Thumbs up

Another thumbs-up for the Ebac - i have the 2600e, but don't believe the "whisper quiet"-ness. On floorboards they can give a low-frequency boom that carries quite a way.

A couple of interesting things about dehumidifiers is that dryer air has a lower specific heat capacity, so it takes less heat to warm your place up. Also, the process of condensing the moisture expells heat, so that warms things up even more (albeit by an 'ickle bit!).

It is surprising how much water can be collected in a single day!

Cheers all, will buy one soon and hopefully solve the problems.

This is how bad it has got now, but it only happens in winter and behind cupboards (i.e. no air circ):

House ownership - great fun
