is it me or has just about everybody got a very very bad COLD at the moment? one of my friends got it two weeks ago and now just about everybody i know has got it, including myself! [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

No they don't, they have a cold.
Far to many people say they have "Flu" now because they are embarrased to take time off work with a common "cold".
Flu kills people and keeps them in bed for several days, a cold means you can still get up, make yourself some food, ring in sick, and watch Kilroy and Trisha.

i'm just getting over a bout of it and yes it was flu and not cold and i still went to work...when ure contracting u dont get sick pay!!!
yes it does seem to be around alot at the moment, loads of people i know have had it or have got it.

Surely if it was the a cold you would have some immunity to it, from previous years where as there is a new varient of flu each year meaning that you don't have immunity to it, thus it is most likely that more people will become ill with it???

chip, seriously m8 it was certainly not just a bad cold!! i had hot n cold sweats, was coughing up all sorts green lumpy crap, could hardly breathe at times, could hardly sleep thru it. i've just cant afford sick days at the mo'!

I had a what i thought was flu a couple of months back. I was breaking out in hot and cold sweats, severe headaches etc etc.
I went to see my gp and told him i had flu he said i never had flu and it was a very bad cold.
He said people think they have flu but you would be seriously ill a lot worse than i was and i thought i was dying lol.
