Right, i'm working from home, got a fairly quiet day ahead, and have run out of milk. (so no cofee or tea)
however, i really fancy a cold drink.
Now, here's the dilemma. The only cold drinks i have in the fridge contain 5.3% alcohol.
My question is: If i tuck into one of these, am i on the slippery slope of alcoholism?? (will that one lead to more....)
Im scared now.

after 11:30 is reasonable, usually only have the odd 1 at that time off day on a saturday for example whilst in the pub waiting for my big breakfast apart from that 2pm onwards is my guideline, I wouldnt worry about alcoholism, not like your gasping, if u was addicted u wouldnt be contenplating have a drink or not

I work in the international field.
A boss of mine who liked his drink, and travelled a lot, was in an airport lounge buying a beer at 9.30am, and offered one for other people.
"For heaven's sake David, it's 9.30 in the morning. How can you drink like that?"
He gave the classic reply -
"Here yes, but somewhere in the world it is evening, and therefore it's OK."
He died a couple of years ago of cancer, but I remember him fondly.

davegtt, too true mate, i would sooner have one stella to ten pi55y fosters, any day of the week.
mind you, they are only 25cl duty free's, and gone in 2 swigs.
i even warned meself one, would lead to another...

gonna write off the day at 2pm, as i think i'll be in a coma by then.

b@stard!.... you have envoked the thirst within me!!!
I think its perfectly ok to drink at any time during the day, depending on the circumstances.
i.e. Rugby the other day was an 08:30 start, Japanese GP was a 06:30 start!!!
Normally I would say about 11:00'ish is when I normally start to fancy a beer though!

personally drinking is only ever a problem if it interferes in a negative way with your life
i.e you never manage to get to work on time with a hangover
or you cant do stuff like drive to get things done as you have been boozing
otherwise anytime is good, but not immediatly after brushing your teeth in the morning it makes the beer taste minging!!

I think my earliest sesh was 9am in the morning. My mother bought me loads of stellas for christmas (not as a present) but what she doesnt know is Ive drank 3/4 of the crate that was bought at the weekend, ive got loads of empties under me bed. Now if thats not alcoholic tendencies Ive got no idea what else is
Try this, take one bottle of stella (or several), a nicked stella pint glass, choose a night when its really dark, cold and raining, and drink, when your depressed it makes it like a sorroful drinking session and makes you feel even more depressed, I like it actually
Oh yea it brings out the flavour more as well
cha0s[theres ONLY one way to drink stella]
