does your bulldog actually listen to anything you do or say, cause mine dont.no i no there stubbern dogs but these animals just take the mick.when they play he plays like a tank hits or bites anything site(not kids)just me and my mates i slap him but it doesnt bother him i mean hard as well(stupid high pain threshold).

how far do you walk him before he snorts and grunts every step mine can round the bloke just but he is only 8 months old.

only thing is you cant stay mad cause the faces they pull and noises they make are so funny,it is true there is no other dog like them

You should never train a dog by slapping it! To train a dog properly do it with kindness and reward. Takes time but is the only way.

i give him biccys when he was doing sit,paw etc but when he plays he bites cause he likes to play tug with the toys but sometimes he just goes for my feet or arms and bulldogs bite exceptionally hard even at 8 months i only smack to get him off but he pays no attention so you push him and he comes back cause he thinks your playing.

forgot to ask how much does your bulldog weigh

the biting/mouthing thing use the command NO shouted not his name. Once you have his attention replace whatever he is biting/mouthing with a fav. toy and say "good boy" this will tell him that he can chew one and not the other.
As far as walking is concerned, at 8 months he is not fully grown (bones are still developing) so only short walks for the moment once he is past the year you may start to extend the distance. I dont know the breed that well but I can talk from the "Boxer" view point that you have to be the dogs conscience for the first year and stop them from getting over exerted as this will not help bone or heart development.

Another thing that works, I still have to do it with my 9 month GSD, when she does the biting thing - is say NO firmly and then ignore them, walk away - turn your back on them, unless they obey your command. Dogs hate being ignored and you will find this goes back to pack instinct, Alpha dog will always ignore a member of the pack if it's being a PITA.

You have to make your dog realise that 'you' are the leader of the pack.

sweet, great 1, Ive got our lil Bulldog Nelson his 7 months old and wieghts 4 1/2 stone, I think hes huge compared to his older brother who died earlier this year at 2 years old he was only 4 1/2 stone so Nelsons growing rapidly...

hes exactly the same as u describe, the slipper or a rolled up newspaper is the only thing he associates with being told off, a smack he ignores and comes back as u say, its rare we have to use the newspaper but we only lift it up and say no, hes starting to catch on, if hes being a handful lock him away for half hour, the dogs thrive on company... as said though they have more character than most people I know

A question I have for you though is do u find them spiteful for example he'll come upstairs in the morning and try to get on the bed witht he g/friend (I'm getting ready to go to work) and if he aint helped up on the bed he'll **** his leg on the corner and go back downstairs to his bed... if he dont get his own way he is always spiteful towards us, I love that dog so much

last time he was weighed he was just over 4 stone that was about 2 months ago.yes he can get very jealous if you sit with someone he jumps on you and sometimes play bite.

thats my favourite technique locking him away when you let him out he pouts at you and feels sorry for himself

2 months ago he'd have been 6 months so I guess hes the right weight then

is he a fussy eater??? our wont touch it when we put it down, he starves himself until he really needs to eat, hes only being fed oncea day now and hes gettig better.

hes even funny with our food, he'll eat anything but as soon as we take it off our plate and put it in his bowl its not good enough for him anymore.

as for walks, hes quite fit. can walk about a mile no probs on a saturday morning with the other halfs parents springer spaniel
