S96 - i doubt you can get on-line quotes for PL insurance as it is not that easy to evaluate the risk (i may be worng of course). I use a broker for all my stuff, at Opus Corporate Risk. He's always been competetive even when insurance in our industry is going through the roof and people are going out of business due to being unable to afford insurance. I'm at home right now so I don't have the contact details but let me know if you want them.

That seems pretty reasonable - ours is about £60k p.a. for £10M. Must be in the wrong business. I've got some nice crystal wine glasses i could hire out. Very reasonable rates . The office is about to get our brokers email, i will mail you with it.

Use a broker to hawk round for prices. I had a meeting with my broker yesterday and the cheapest was Axa, who are our existing insurers (so I suspect the repeat business may have had something to do with the lower quote). Also try Lloyds (who are a pretty good benchmark) and Norwich Union.
You will not be able to get online quotes for this sort of thing as risks must be assessed for each individual business. Make sure you've got your health & safety stuff locked down tight as insurers are more stringent about this than the Health and Safety Executive themselves.

96 - come to think of it, you're right - it's combined liability. if you need h&s advice i can probably help there as i'm doing my NEBOSH National Diploma exams next week; hence i am at home messing about on the 'net (otherwise known as revising) instead of in the office messing about on the 'net (otherwise known as working).

ProperCharlie,
I work for a national insurance broker, I noticed the amount you said your paying for Liability cover. If you would like an alternative indication I would be more than willing to help.
