Question

Evening all.

Just watching that Clarkson programme about the Victoria Cross and it reminded me of the old war magazines that everyone used to read when I was a child. The title I remember being most popular was 'Commando' although there were others.

Anyone else out there remember these, or know of any websites etc?

UB

UB, I used to read all those great little books. Wish I'd kept them as they must be worth a few bob now.

Used to get the Commando comics, I'm sure they're still around. Also used to read "Battle" and "Action" comics, later combined to become "Battle/Action" I think! Taught me all of the german I know today - Achtung! Grenade! Der Englander fight like ein pig-dog! Tommy schwein! etc. etc.

Didn't buy these, swapped them with a cousin for my 200ad issues, which I got from prog 1. Wish I had kept those ones instead, would probably be worth some cash now

"Commando"... I've still got a few of them. In fact I've still got most of the comics and books I had from back in the sixties when I was growing up.

My dad collected war magazines through the second world war, once he had the set he bound them all together into about 6 leather binders. Something nice to keep.
