Mine has just gone up to £40 and I'm seriously considering whether
to cancel part or all of it. Keep getting bloody phone calls from
them asking if I want something or other and also anything out of
the ordinary is put on their pay-for-view channels.

yeah, got a leter with the magazine - £40 now
I think I'll have to give sky sports the boot!
Sky must be making some serious money, with subscriptions from viewers, money from cable operators, not to mention advertisers and from independant broadcasters.
And they have the cheek to increase the bills. Really makes me want to shoot the TV

I think of Sky subscriptions as a kind of idiot tax. The only valid excuse for having IMHO is to watch sport, I used to prefer to get down the pub and watch it there with other people thus neatly avoiding Rupert Murdochs idiot tax.
Vote with your feet and the whole house of cards will come down, otherwise stop whinging and keep lining RM's pockets, Prices will continue to rise, it's part of Sky's business model. Why do you think you got subsidised hardware in the first place?

Think I'll get the movies taken off, a bit pointless having them anyway when you've got 200 DVD's...
For those who don't have Sports - Do you still get Sky sports News? Its the only sports chanel I watch...

Its probably due to getting the Champions league this year. Did I hear it right that next season they will be able to show any Prem match live i.e. even sat arvo ones???
Sooner or later I reckon they will start a package where you can get a season ticket for your team and get to see all their matches and the one big match of the weekend.
Ive only just ordered Sky and it was £38 for the top package (£1 installation) but I only have to have the top package for the first month. No mention of it going up when I signed up but their T&C's do state they can change the price at any time. Will see if if its worth the £40 every month whilst the footy season is on and then knock it down to a basic package (think the cheapest is £12.50).
Simon.
P.S. Nacro - £5 per month for Sky Sports is a lot cheaper than going to the pub when you add up the number of pints you drink!

So you can pay £5 only and get sky sports? Perhaps Uncle Rupert is getting generous in his old age?
Or perhaps you have to pay a little more than that?
