Getting car with SORN from A - B legally - HELP!!
#1
I need to get a "noddy" car, from Churchtown (Southport) to Liverpool (Woolton), legally. The car has a SORN. My mother's had her licence revoked (Alzheimer's) and has given the car to our 17yr old, as his first car, lucky boy!!
I know the only way I can get it' is to have it brought on a breakdown truck, but I've been quoted silly money.
Can anyone help?

Book it in for an MOT at your destination, then you can legally drive it without tax & MOT to the test, obviously you'll still need to insure it. (The test MUST be prebooked with your reg no.)

in disguise - Try it and see. I know I am right - you only think you are right.
I think you will find that if you read and UNDERSTAND the ts&cs of your policy you will realise that I am right. Taking your understanding to its logical conclusion, I could buy a 600cc smart and a Ferrari. I would insure the smart for £3.00 a year and drive the Ferrari tp on the Smart insurance?
BTW - No need to apologise when you find you are wrong

He would be insured at the time if his own policy covers him
why would the owner have to be insured as she is not driving?
i have a trade policy i can drive any motor vehicle in my custody or control
doesn,t say they must be insured elsewhere
