On the AA website it says that two lanes are closed. But it has changes from North bound to South bound and back agaion in the space of 10mins! Supposed to be a lorry load of diesel spilt.

Not good I'm afraid! 2 lanes blocked Northbound and 1 Southbound, causing major probs from what one of our Field Engineers has said. He has been stationary for nearly an hour.

Just had a look at the BBC website. They're having to resurface part of the motorway and repair the barriers. They reckon that the outside lanes both ways will be closed for 24 hours.

Major delays round there for a while then!!

Better make sure we've got plenty **** and juice for this run!

once got caught up in traffic outside preston where a safeways's petrol delivery truck had overtuned.

motorway was shut in BOTH directions for over 24 hours while they cleared the motorway behind the crash, then had to drain the tanker before they could even attempt to shift it.

to make matters worse all traffic was diverted through preston city centre on a saturday night.

accident happened saturday morning and motorway didnt reopen until sunday evening.

Truck hit the bridge, sent rubble over two lanes, diesel spillage, big mess :-(

Traffice was backing up at 06:00hrs this morning, sO I'd expect long delays going north

I was going southbound on the M6 last night just after it happened. Apparently there was 16 mile queue.

The poor sods who got stuck in the 15 miles jam going up J15 last night are now probably stuck getting through J27!
