I am looking to start a savings account for a deposit for a house.

did have one with tesco but that was just out of convenience. am looking to deposit about 5k to start and then maybe up to 1k a month.......

any good advice that can be offered???

Er well an ISA to a degree but obviously yer putting in far more than u can on an ISA but erm its a nice problem to have init

Halifax websaver is pretty good interest rate.I have some money in one.
I assume you have used up your cash ISA limit of 3,000.

You can also get a slightly higher rate of interest if you set up a minthly direct debit saving plan at your local bank.

The only downside is that wherever you go interest rates are pretty low anyway.

3k in a mini cash isa

7 in a unit trust

mini isa has easy access

do one in your name, the missus,your nans,the dogs and your cat,

oh but you have to be a tax payer so may be not the cat
