Arc'Teryx Fleeces

Having seen some of these in Chamonix over the weekend, but not wanting to pay the prices in the resort, does anyone know a place that does these at decent prices?
I've found snowandrock do them, but they don't have many in stock at the moment and their prices aren't that great!

Very expensive everywhere I have seen, including NYC and that's even with the strong Pound.
I am with you that it's probably the best/coolest gear you can get right now and just like The North Face in the mid 90's, it's not really a fashion choice so there aren't going to be many end-of-season sales either. The retailers would rather just pack the stuff up and put it back out next season. Good luck.

depends what you're using it for doesn't it? Most people are massively overspecced in their gear. A mate of mine has enough gear to make a decent assault on Annapurna and hasn't been much further than Lac des Gaillands. Arcteryx (however you spell it!) is good sure, but it is b*****d expensive anywhere I've seen it. How was Cham - I hear most of the massif is effectively closed due to rockfall as so much of the ice has melted?

Back to the fleece I use it to chuck on top when going out in the UK socially, for kiteflying, walking, driving the Westfield. Then I'll take it skiing to wear in the evening or maybe as a next to jacket layer if it's very cold.
Can anyone recommend a good fleece that fits the above and doesn't look naff!

greg

The mate I mentioned is a kit freak and knows all the ranges better than me. He reckons that Mountain Hardware and Mountain Equipment are good - but he just told me he's buying Arcteryx for the coming ski season, so mebbe you should bite the bullet!

so it appears the snow and rock website doesn't reflect actual stock levels so I got a phone call this am to say my jacket isn't really in stock, despite the website last night saying it was.
Not impressed with snow and rock website
