I have received a lot of e-mails tonight from people with 'car' related e-mail addresses. All have them have a .zlo attachment with them (which I can't open)
Subject headers e.g.
Re. Thank You
Re. That Movie
I have only had this new e-mail address for 10 days and it is not widely known. Can anybody shed any light?
Cheers

As a rule, never open attatchments to mail you can't identify. Don't even open mail you don't know as some contain auto-reply features which invisibly email back to the sender that your account is live. Most junk I receive ends up in the "Bulk" mail folder (Yahoo) and it gets deleted without being read, and reported as spam before emptying the trash. I have a 2nd account that I have only ever given to family and friends and as yet, have never received any spam. You have to wonder if a "bot" has raided your address book.

Yup,
It's the new varient of Sobig
Is your new address the one on your SN profile Tony?
If so, the virus can harvest e-mail addresses from the Internet Explorer cache. If somebody has your profile page in the cache on their PC (just from looking at it) and gets infected you could end up with a copy of the virus coming your way.
Also note that the virus may use your address to spoof the "from" field in the e-mail. Hence, you might start getting virus reports from mail servers claiming you've sent out an infected messaged when you haven't.
HTH,
Chris.

I has the same tonight, all from addresses used by my new isp Eclipse. I've only had this account one week, grrrr. Messages like Your Details (four of them), That Movie (two), Details (two), Thank You! (four, one was actually from support@eclipse.net.uk), Approved (one), and Wicked Screensaver (one). I didnt see the attachments as Norton or Outlook must have blocked them.
How did they mannage to find my email addy???
Was it Eclipse's fault as only they know my new email addy?

Yes, you are right re. opening attachments. I should have explained that I attempted to open it on a secondary 'safe' PC not my main one
Chris
Cheers mate. Just run the Stinger but that did not find it. Looks like I will have to try it the hard way! Just miffed that Norton did not catch it as I am up to date!
