I spent a few day in Alghero, then drove to the ferry port and in to Corsica.
You will not be dissapointed.
I think its bloody roasting at the moment too!

Went there for 2 weeks years ago, think that was to Alghero too. The hotel was ace, the staff were really friendly and the food......oooooohhh to die for.
Very very hot there, lots of trees down by the beach though for shelter. Think the other side of the island was the expensive side, Aga Khan goes there etc.
Remember we did a tour to a vineyard, that was good, lots of freebies hic !
Sadly, Thomsons stopped using that resort/hotel soon after so we never made it back. Never saw anyother operator going there.
Have fun, I envy you !
Oh ... watch out for pick pockets... rife in many places these days.

Been twice, to the Forte Village out there and somewhere else (was over 10 years ago). Hottest place I have ever been as it reached 105 degrees when I was there. Beautiful island if you venture away from the tourist/city areas.
Again I will vouch for the food being fantastic, especially the sea food and pizza!
Have a great time!

Stayed at the Forte Village the year it opened (1970, I think) as a kid. Very fond memories and it was the first time I'd ever had pizza - freshly cooked in big kilns over charcoal. I can still smell and taste them now and they were absolutely the best.

Which part are you going to?
We went out in May, just before the big tourist rush (very popular with Italians, Dutch, Germans, etc from late June to late August)
We stayed on the Northern part of the island in a village called Porto Raphael. There were loads of secluded beaches and there were many times we had the beach to ourselves!!
The food and drink is cheap, if you avoid things like lobster!
La Maddalena is worth a visit as it Isola Capera, which are a ferry ride away from the mainland.
We also managed a boat trip around the more remote islands. Worth every penny in my opinion.
I'm not a big fan of returning to the same place for holidays, but this might be one of those places!

We're going to Capo Testa, if that means anything to anyone! It's a Mark Warner all-inclusive watersports holiday. I expect we'll hire a car for a few days and explore

Looks like Capo Testa's right on the north according to this ere travel guide. The flight check-in's at 4am in Gatwick and I'm still awake here in Reading at 1.15am. Today should be enjoyable then
