Petrol Radio Control car, how's this?
#1
clicky
Fancy a r/c petrol car, don't want to spend a fortune because it'll be given up in about a week. Anyone heard/have experience of these cars?.
Comes with everything, for £165, blumin cheap. Is it gonna be a case of, buy it and be chuffed with the value, or buy it and no longer wonder why it's so cheap?

hello mate, its another case of.. yer pays yer money....etc..
this is just my personal opinion, but i would spend a bit more than that on a car.
as when i couldn't afford what i wanted, i signed off some more overtime and saved up for it.
Im not saying that its not good value for money, and would probably be ideal for 90% of people, but i, personally wouldn't bother.

Yeah, s'pose your right. Just wanting someone to say, "yeah I got one their great"
Too good to be true I suppose. I'm downloading the video of it at the moment, see what it looks like in action.
Also been on the website and they have a sport version of the car coming out with better parts here and there. So if I did buy it and use it a lot but it isn't up to scratch, I could allways upgrade the parts. If I don't use it much then it will be less of a loss than a more expensive one.. talking myself into it.
Got a helicopter at christmas... still haven't flown it

good thinking james
if you want an unbiased opinion, phone sean on 01268 727212
tell him "BMW Daren" told you to call him and ask him if he's heard of them. (he runs a model shop).
good luck

Jason, awesome cars mate, but bit too much for moi.
Just got an email from the guy who bought a Smartech one from Ebay, strangely it was as I opened this thread up
Anyway, he said he bought a car from a model shop for £240, and then saw the smartech on Ebay and like me thought too good to be true. He said he went for it, as it was cheap, he reckons it's much better than the dearer one he bought, stronger etc.
He did say it was a bit of a sod to run in, but said once that was done it was fine. He also said he'd deffinately buy another one. Can't be bad for £165.

Went into the local hobby shop in Beeston, they have a Subaru for £185 which pi$$ed me right off seeing as Mrs K just spent £250 on mine, didn't know if it included the radio gear as me and the boys were to busy looking at the helicopter they had in there...

aaron, there must be a scoobynetter up near you who can do this.
if all else fails, i'll gladly build it for you, but i'm trying to save you the immense postage cost, thats all.
have you got a shop near you? they normally have some petrolhead school leaver who can do this for a pack of spangles and a full fat can of coke...
if you really cant find someone, as i say, i'll gladly build it.
you should have a go though, as after you stack it, you'll know where all the broken bits have come from!!! LOL
let me know
seriously, when i bought my V-One-S, this came as bags of screws and my jaw hit the deck, when i came home from work and saw it.
then i was up till 3am building it, and the same the next night, and that was it done...... it felt so good!!
then i got all green spray paint all over the kitchen lol, doing the bodyshell.
and fumed out my missus, revving the fooking thing up in the living room, and waking the neighbours up at 3am....
(didnt realise how loud the thing was)- those were the days.....
