I am looking to clean an old bit of brass. It is a large item that has had alot of use and is in need of a good clean.
I have used wet and dry paper (400 and 320),compound and some Brasso however there are some pitted areas where I just cant get into.
Does anyone know if there something I can put on it so help strip it ?

Coke, yep. But has to be the full fat stuff, none of your girly diet rubbish.
Coke is also great for removing limescale build ups on chrome taps etc. Also good in the kettle to remove scale.
