Sleep amd waking up
#1
Every now and then after a night's sleep I feel real groggy, can't seem to focus my eyes properly. It wears off around mid morning, and generally doesn't follow drinking, anyone else get this??
What is it, too much sleep, too little sleep, waking from a deep sleep, hot temperature??

Well if you ain't a lazy b4stard ... then
Sounds like diurnal depression to me....
Your Serotonin levels usually fall away around 11ish at night then pick up around 5-6am...
However, sometimes these levels fail to pick up till later in the morning and you feel really groggy as your neurotransmitters ain't firing the happy juice. It's like jet-lag and effectively your bodyclock has got a bit out of line
Do you go to your bed at a regular time?
Is your mood noticeably affected?
Do you smoke dope?
Some things that I noticed had a considerable impact on this
Good luck

Showing our age are we Si, havent heard it called that for a while
Admittedly getting on a bit mate
Matt....
Could maybe be that your blood sugar levels are too low in the morning. Having a light supper helps.
Presume you are taking enough exercise generally
Otherwise, it might be worth a trip to the docs to check it ain't diurnal depression. Some folk just ain't morning people but if it's started happening only recently then does sound a bit odd....
Cheers
Si (happy in the mornings )

Yes I exercise regularly - Footy every Monday, Gym once or twice a week, weekend gardening etc.
I've always had this, just wondered if any one else did. Only happens occasionally, this morning was one such day. Did have a heavy weekend involving vodka\orange slammers chased with Stella on Saturday night. As a married father of a two year old, that was highly unusual.
I'm not very good at getting up, and generally get out of bed at 7:45, shower dress and drive to work(8am), then have a drink and maybe something to eat(9am). Perhaps I should make a conscious effort to have breakfast.

sometimes I wake up and I have burry eye sindrome. Im short sighted anyway, so it makes things seem real bad. Can take an hour or so for it to clear up, makes me feel like Im going blind or something.
