Sounds like fleas to me. Been anywhere where there are cats or dogs?

Sounds like June bugs aka Berry bugs, aka Harvest bugs.
They bite where the skin is soft and moist, usually where a bloke's socks are tight at the ankle.
Think yourself lucky you didn't fall/lie down in the grass....they LOVE biting in the groin/waist area eekeek

Try Teatree Oil.... works for me. Usually midges or gnats at this time of year. They only go for good meat if thats any consolation !

Dunk

We've got a couple of the electric swatters. They're great. Turns it into a sport. Very good at night as the litte b***tards light up and fry when they hit the wire

As for the itching - Piriton tablets are very good.

Wasp-eze is fantastic for midge/ gnat/ mosquito bites as well as wasp and jellyfish stings. Got bitten to bu66ery at the weekend and you can't buy it over here in Germany
