Fantastic speech by a guy on a newsgroup I read.

Respect.

______________
If you have a Corsa/Saxo/Loud Stereo/Blue LED windscreen washer
jets/furry dice/drive round aimlessly with other similar looking
c*nts/blacked out windows/wear a baseball hat/multicoloured paint
job/body stripes/tattoos/front spoiler like a snowplough/have neons
lights under your car/have neon lights anywhere on your car/women in
tow that wear white stilletos/wheels way too wide for the car/wheels
way too large diameter for the car/loud exhausts(oops)/exhaust holes the
size of a black hole/gravitate towards out of town car parks after
dark/leave tyre tread on the road/ race away from traffic lights/ have
body kits that serve no purpose/blacked out rear lights/have an IQ
similar to your UK shoe size/have an IQ similar to your continental
shoe size/ are called darren/kevin/leroy/wayne/kylie/sharon/ etc

.....then you deserve to have your car impounded, crushed and a huge
fine imposed.

I have a somewhat controversial view on boy racers. There are some young lads out there who also like fast cars, however, instead of trying to make there Nova look/go faster with big zorsts and fancy lights they just don't bother. Instead they nick your scoob and if they can't be arsed doing that they jsut run a key down the side of it. In a society whey the young are getting more and more destructive I think that it is great when you see some young lad/lass who has spent time creating something unique. To us with more money etc it might just be a dogs dinner on wheels but it is an outward sign that says that they are motivated, creative and pursuing an interest. They're cannot be anithing wrong in that. For every boy/girl racer there could be a car thief or drug user. Which would you prefer?

I'm young (18). And have a fast(ish) car (Saxo VTS).

Am I a boyracer? The Saxo is standard. My other car, however, is not. It is noisey, has 100% more power than it had as standard, goes round corners faster than the Saxo, and also has bigger wheels and arches.

Both are insured in my name, both were paid for by me, both are run by me.

Its funny to read alright, but I agree completely with Chaz. Probably because thats what we all did with our cars and bikes when I was that age. Taught us how to use a spanner or two as well.

chaz you have a point there- a few of them really do care

However the ones with the really bad cars have put neither time nor effort into them- they usually buy whatever wrecks are going round in their circle of friends then drive them with no tax/mot/insurance. Exactly the type that will nick or damage your Impreza for laughs.

Yes, but it is not just the young who drive without Tax, insurance, mot etc.

My auntie drives around in a cavalier and has no insurance, tax, mot etc. and parks it where she wants, hits things all the time and has no respect for anyone on the road. Her son (my cousin) on the ever hand pays through his nose for his modified Sunny GTIR (insurance, tax, mot etc.) and he is then branded a boy racer. Something’s just don't add up

Just my point of view. You can't stereotype everyone!
