Thanks for the replies.

Astra van - naaah
Mondeo - hmmm V6 with space but still a mongo
Volvo - v.good I expect but a little bit too "old geezer"
Landy - would love too but a bit slow and uncomfortable (I know as I drove from UK to S.Africa and half way back in a MK II)
Pug - just too boring and ugly (no offence!)
Ford - cheap old Ford will have just to much rust lol
SAAB - hmm, this seems a good idea. Not cheap, even with 150K on the clock but otherwise I think this seems to be the winner so far.

Cheers

Matt

Question

I am thinking of getting a second car with room to carry my mates and our mountain bikes.

The Scoob is great but not an ideal choice. The other half has a Pug 106 1.1 so that's no good either.

I need something that I won't be too fussed about looking after i.e. leaving it parked where ever, carrying muddy bikes and mucky ppl, is reliable, has plenty of room and doesnt cost much.

Only looked at a few Legacy 5drs on Autotrader with a zillion miles on so far.

Thoughts pls...

Cheers

Matt

Another vote for a Saab 900/9000. Both have huge boots, run for miles, avoid the 9000 auto though as they need rebuilds.

Maybe its a mind set thing but I struggle with the idea of a car already over 100K miles.

Tempted to spend a bit more and go for a SAAB or Volvo TBH.

Best not buy too hastily until I see how skint I am after TSL on Friday!

Also pesky builder is charging me £120 pday
