Anyone go??? (www.downloadfestival.co.uk)
I went yesterday and it was fantastic.
Best surprise of the day was Metallica turning up unannounced and played a few old tunes and a few new tunes on the second stage.
Evenescense was very good considering it was the first time ever they'd played in the UK, that woman can sing.
Disturbed rocked the place, apart from the first song where his mic didn't work, but that didn't spoil their set.
Also mentions - Ragin Speedhorn (Got me jumping in the crowd)
And the weather - lots of pink people there (got burnt a little myself!) the rain stayed off until about 8-ish
The "P'off award" goes to Keith Flint - go back to doing Prodigy stuff, your new punk music is rubbish!

Same time next year guys!!!

Meant to say GOT a little burnt
Bog standard open air in a field rock festival.
It was sunny all day up at donnington yesterday, temps up in the 80's at least.

Ahh, it paid to sit/stand to the far left side of the stage, as soon as they finished we all rushed to the Scuzz stage and caught 30 mins of metallica (Nobody really knew until the music finished and they could hear Metallica from the other stage). I got there as they were just starting to play Fuel (I think). The place was jumping when they did Master Of Puppets.
The thing that p'd me off was if you had a 1-day ticket you couldn't leave to go back to your car and then came back, only campers with the wristband could come and go That so sucked as we had food, drinks, and sun lotion in the car, plus we had to carry stuff we bought all day long.
I chose Sunday over sat as I've seen Maiden twice on their Metal 2000 your, so I was content to skip them and go sunday (plus the massive rumour that Metallica was going to be there sunday )
At least Disturbed didn't seem to fazed by the mic problem, and was sit me or did some of the speakers on the main stage keep popping in and out, the music seemed to get quieter and louder in places like a speaker wire was loose.
We left just as Flint was finishing (didn't like Zwan, Audioslave, or NOFX particularly well) - did you get the rain shower? As we got on the M1 we hit a massive thunder shower.
Next year we're camping

No it wasn't ScoobyTal
I wasn't the one throwing chips (with kethcup) into the crowd either
Altough we did seem to be follwing the Murderdoll twins (black hair, white face, fake blood on lips) as everywhere we went we seemed to bump into them (so maybe them following us). My Mate Doug had the Cradle of Filth "Jesus is a ..." Tee, so if you saw someone wearing that it was proabably our party (only saw 2 other people there wearing that tee)

Might be going to Reading (since Metallica said they're playing there) - all depends on ticket supplier

sounds like heavy metal hell on earth
And the bad thing being....?
Seriously, if you like rock/metal then this was the place for you.
There were some other bands I wish they could have got, Saliva, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Korn, etc... Maybe next year.

Funny moment: When I gave a tenner to the burger van for a burger and the lovely lady gave me the change back from a twenty - at that point I'd had more money than I arrived with
PS. Drinks prices were stoopid - £2 for a little bottle of coke! Pah!
