Don't get a Motorola T720. It's so sloooooooooooooooooow!! Great looking phone wiuth nice features but it's a bag of poo. Crap for text messages as well. I also have a Panasonic GD87 (Vodafone Live!) which is very good. Nice colour screen, camera, polyphonic ringtones etc but you can't download any more games on to it.

Just bought meself a Nokia 3510i off ebay. Cost me £80 as against £130 in Carphone Warehouse. Has colour screen. Polyphonic ringtones, which are wicked, WAP and GPRS whatever that is.... haven't got to grips with it all yet. Anyways, I'm really happy with it having tried a Sony Ericsson T68i a while back and found it pants.

Not overly worried about camera phone - would prefer Java etc.

I'm after a small light phone that has things like calendars, to do lists etc, at least a couple of hundred number memory, would prefer to be colour and polyphonic.. As for style, not too worried.. was looking at Samsung clamshell, but looks like most have a pants standby/talktime rating compared to nokias.. always had nokia and not had a problem with them..

I think I've narrowed it down to either the Nokia 6100 or the Samsung S300 - I would love the clamshell design if it wasn't for the ariel sticking out - I think it may get broken or stick in somewhere painful when its in my jeans pocket.

Looks like I'm going to be changing contract in the next week or two.. probably to Orange your plan 200.. It seems there are better deals in the high street than on the net, or at least as good.

Shaggy - the battery life on the Samsungs is a lot better now. They all come with a slim and extended battery. The extended battery is not much bigger at all TBH and you dont even notice it. Standby times are around 4-5 days.

The standard aerial can be replaced with a stubby one which you can get off Ebay for £3.99 delivered (Buy It Now). See this Ebayer:
