Can anyone point me in the direction of a cheap but reliable region free dvd player online? Or even better does anybody know of a hack/code for the sony dvp-ns300. Google searching has proved unsuccessful

Prob best DVD player around at mo is Pioneer 656A

Plays DVD, DVD-A, CD, SuperAudioCD, VCD, MP3 and all the recordables, this is true all format future proof (for at least a week anyway!). Available already chipped from www.techtronics.com cheaper than list.
The pioneer 767A adds firewire for equiped digicams too.

Other than that, try www.priceguideuk.com, or www.kelkoo.co.uk.

PS. If you do order from Techtronics, make sure you get a chipped scart to go to your video so you can copy rentals/borrowed to tape (no macro). It's half price (£25) when bought with a player !

Thumbs down

You won't get a hack code for a Sony - it will need a hardware upgrade.

Got the Pioneer 656A and love it. Opened up the whole new world of SACD and DVD-Audio to me. Oh, it plays DVD-Video quite well too.

However, I certainly wouldn't class it as cheap.

Cheers

I've got that Yamada and it really is very good.
Highly recommended and I paid more than that for it!
