Anyone show dogs here?

Took my pooch back to see his family and brothers & sisters over Easter. The breeder was extremely impressed with him and he was certainly the best and largest of a lovely litter.
Thing is she is imploring me to show him and says he might well win Crufts and all that Means I have to do 'rincraft' training and all that, which will be a pain, esp with my job. Also his coat will have to be kept in a long rather poncy show look with no washing (which softens it)- not ideal for a dog that lives in the house!
Has anyone done this or have info on it as I really dont think I can be asked - (500 quid stud fee sounds nice mind )

showed my Bull Terrier at Crufts a few agos, load of cobblers though- the breeders and judges are all to clicky and it seems very much a case of who you know.
its also a very stupid thing looking back.....i mean poncing up and down so someone can look at your pet! if my dog could talk he would have said "get a life"......closely followed by "wheres that bloke who touched my *****"

We went to look at a weimaraner breeder whose prodigy had perhaps a hundred or more rosettes and certificates all around the wall. She was very proud. Wanted to show us, promptly held the dog by the chin, kicked its back legs a bit further apart, and looked at us glowingly. Made me want to puke. Poor animal.
Crufts highlights on TV looked a bit better, but that's TV, just show the good bits.
