Usually you've got a skewer that comes with the trainer. Replace the one in your wheel with it and it'll fix to the trainer.

2x cup shaped things that you slot each side of the quick release mech into and then tighten against one another

PG is spot on, i have an Elite Volare Fluid Elastogel trainer, and thats how mine fixes, put the wheel into the clamps and tighten it up. Make sure you get a front wheel stand aswell or you will be cycling with your *** in the air !!

Its also worthwil getting a road tyre (or slick) for the back as it makes a fair bit of noise on the trainer.

I'm looking to sell my Tax trainer with front wheel support block. I just couldn't get on with indoor training and used it twice. Interested?

I have an Elite Fluid Turbo trainer, havent used it for a while, bought it to train during the winter but I have to say I always found it very hard to motivate myself to go and sit in the garage for an hour on the damn thing, even with music on its still painfully boring work.

Seeing as the clocks are about to go forward Id suggest sacking it off till the winter and go riding in the outdoors instead! Beleive me, much more fun (and Im a sad git who once competed at national level -mtb/cx and road) so I know all about trainings ups and downs................incidentally I havent been on a bike for over 6 months now(maybe more)!

Absolutely. I was out at Glentress this morning and it was beautiful. The idea of doing all that work without a) the fantastic scenery during the climbs and b) the singletrack downhills as a reward seems totally alien to me!?!?

Riding outdoors is great, and what it's all about, but trainers have their place for sure.

If time is short, the days are short etc etc then proper workouts can be more beneficial than going out.

If your talking about training for real then you need a heart rate monitor to go with your turbo trainer, could be a waste of time otherwise - depending on how scientific you are getting about it, but I would compare it to doing a quarter mile in your car with no speedo or timing equipement if you get my point they are cheaper these days too

Never get on my tt without it ADP I find a decent interval workout fun, challenging and not at all boring.
