pet hate

Normally, I’m like: “It’s Friday, yeah it Friday!” and I love these days. Therefore, I’d hate to start this one off, but I really have to get this off my chest. Driving on the way to the station (country roads) I notice a dark green sofa dumped on the grass verge. I mean, why for crying out loud? It seemed okay and so why not put an advert in the local paper? Failing that, why not call the local council? It’s an ignorance thing that really gets my goat. It’s the same kind of mentality found when the park their wreck next to your car in the supermarket, swing the door wildly open, embed their door into your shiny panel and all done without a second’s thought.
Sheesh!

Round our way there are charities that will take away furniture for free. Why don't people do that? It's certainly less trouble than shifting it to a grass verge yourself (and, TBH, once you've got it in the back of a van why not take it to the tip instead?)

On my train journey to work in the morning, you wouldn't believe the number of settees, matresses, fridges and washing machines i see - in people's back gardens...!!!
How do people live like that??

The tip! Yeah, get this ... and, and, and there's the council tip (land-fill site thingy) only about five-miles away from where they dump'd the sofa!!! Run out of van juice or what!?
Man!!! Do I need to draw a picture!?

Maybe it was a commercial deal -- they have to pay for waste disposal. Something like new sofa delivered, "Yes, we'll take the old one away". Instead of paying to have it disposed of, the company just dump it
