Why was my password changed???
#1
Whahey, I can post again!!!
Why, because I changed the e-mail address in my personal profile, was my password changed ????
I had to request it be sent to my new e-mail address because I had 'forgotten' it, in order to be able to post again.
WTF?
Is this some kind of bizarre security process? Surely if someone had access to my account in order to change my profile, they'd use an e-mail address they could then also access in order to abuse this access?

It uses the email address with which you registered the account.
************************************************** *****************
Please enter the email address you registered with in the box below and click "Send Me My Password".
Please note, we are not able to send your password to any other email address.

If you make a change to details, it sends a new password (which you can change) to the new email addy - just in case.
Therefore, only if you are logged into SN can you change your email addy.
Try & enter an "unregistered" email & it fails. In this way the username & email addy must be the same to protect against fraudulent use of a persons u/name
