Cool

right opinions please.

I've been offered the above 99/S with 50k. FBMWSH - usual bits and pieces excellent condition.

Thing is it's a euro import - how much should I pay for it?

Note** I have no concerns over it being a Euro Import except that a UK one would still be in warranty**

also the 316 is actually a 1.9. and I need mpg as I do 50+ miles a day.

If you're used to driving a fast car, you'll find you get crap MPG with a small petrol engine as you'll have your foot on the floor all the time. You might be better off with a turbo diesel, which at least will give a bit of 'shove'. Of course, this doesn't answer your question. I would look at somewhere like

Matt

It's worth checking that cc. I am trying to remember the changeover point but i think the e36 tourings and convertables kept the m43 1.6 ond 1.8 units for a bit longer. The e46 and compact went to m43tu ie 1.9. Will check at work on monday cos i can't quite remember.

In general there is not alot that goes wrong with them - just a few rubber mounts here and there. The only major downside is that they are so slow!!

Mail me if you want specific info

DMB,

Know what you mean about the cc, I can't find anything that says this model came with the 1.9 unit.

However - I've been assured it is a 1.9. I wouldn't want the 1.6 too slow.

cheers,

matt.

Matt that car came with 2 engine choices :

m43 b16 1596cc
m43 b18 1796cc

either of these could be fitted can you mail me the chassis no and i can tell you exactly. The only reason it would have the 1.9 is if it has some dodgy non uk spec.

Hope that helps!!

Matt

No probs , glad to be of some help

if you want a diesel i cannot think of a better option than the 320d , good performance and v.high mpg. A seriously underated car. Not many second hand jobs about though
