Has any one ever tried the Traxxas T-MAXX? I know some on here (Badger Stuffer) have the Savage21 but can't really decide which one I want. I think the T-MAXX is going to win as there are a lot more hop ups and spares.

Darren,

I will have completed the break in on the Savage by tonight and will let you know what it goes like.

The Traxx is faster but the Savage has performance parts as standard (So I read)

Where are you? If you want you can come round and have a blast in the Savage sometime.

Have a look here for T-Maxx info.
I have a T-maxx (old smaller engine) but it is still plenty fast enough for me. It's very strong , but bit's do break when you push it too hard. I ugraded a few "under carriage" plastic bits with metal and have had no problems since. The T-Maxx has been out a long time now and hop up parts easy to get, most model shop will have them.
Since I bought my T-maxx everyone has been trying to catch up or enter the market after Thunder Tiger brought out the EK4.
Have a look at some vid clips here
Cheers, Grahame.

Started breaking mySavage in last night. after running for a while it stalled. I pulled the starter too hard and pulled the cable off.

****

2 hours later, rear suspension and subframe stripped out, starter assembly removed, spring rewound (Lots of cuts on my hands) and re-assembled.

I have learned the hard way not to pull the starter to far or too hard.

Badger Stuffer,

That did not last long. Snapping the cable on a pull start is the most common problem among the Nitro cars, always carry a spare...or two. This is one of the reasons that I was looking at the T-MAXX as it has an auto starter that you plug in the top and press a button.

Where abouts are you based? I'm in Brighton

I bought a t-maxx 2.5 a couple of weeks ago, and its ace. the bloke i bought it off also sells the savage ~ he reckoned the t-maxx was the better truck and i took his advice.
very happy with it.

smashed the fuel tank in the first week, and am still trying to source another one, and broke a shock absorber when i rolled it about seventy hundred times

wife wasn't happy when she opened the package from modelsport and found out i spent £74 on a new set of ali shocks!

cheers,
simon

ps. wait for warmer weather before trying to run in the engine as its a boring and miserable job in the cold and damp.
