That's the demo version? You can only save once per level, although there are restart points. Personally I think it adds to the game rather than the save move, die , reload 'cheats'

played a demo of this a few weeks ago and while it seemed not a bad game i dont think its quite going in the same league as CS ? at least not as a online multi-player FPS ?

i admit i only played it for a shortish period of time and it was a demo only.

certainly its had a couple of good reviews. however i dont think its likely to be comparable to CS as its different type of game - with more thinking needed !

i'll stick with CS til i get bored and with a new CS release due next month thats probably not likely !

u play CS then Neil ? join us on tuesdays for a game ? we're back up and running again now on a new server and looking for more scooby peep to join us each week.

have you been playing it online yet ? are there any servers out there ? if so hows it different / better etc etc than CS ?

i'd be interested in your view ?

cheers

Of course you were joking weren't you Andy.

CS is most definitely a game worth paying for.

Not only that, but to get online you need to connect to the WON server and have your license verified each time (that I don't think has ever been worked round)

I've bought no-end of games in the last 24 months, but CS is the only I keep going back to.

Steve, would love too. Not sure If I can do this tues as I've just rebuild my PC with a GF3 and I haven’t got around to configuring my ISP connection yet (using works currently). Believe me, I’m a lazy git and it will take me weeks to do a 1 minute job .....Anyway I wouldn't want to embarrass the team I'm playing against

Whats the details - IP address of the server? Or is that given on the night?

think you'll find that its the generations pack that contains CS.......

opposing force was simply an official add-on pack for HL ?

Is counter strike the thing you could download from the net if you had Half-Life ?

Whats this about BUYING counterstrike? I remember downloading some add-on that was free and it was a huge multi-player version of half-life, which was a couple of years ago.

No, you're paying for Half-Life and there's a FREE Counter-Strike disc in the box.

And given that it's like 80MB, that's a jolly good thing to do.

Cool

CS is free - if you have HL then download CS. yes its big but its been on many a cd from various mags and even without broadband you should be wth an ISP that offers 24/7 these days so its not a prob to download a 80-100 mb file.

however there is also a retail version of CS which you can buy in the Generations box i think it is - which is a standalone version of CS - ie it does NOT require you to own HL.

either way get it - its a way of life.

join us on a tuesday for a scooby net sesion of CS
