Double whammy this week !
Following last week's dismal Counterstrike turnout, we're gonna give it another go.

lets get more peeps along on tuesday nite for CS.
we had fun even if we did not have many people. i should have 2 peeps coming along this tuesday - 1 newbie and 1 non-newbie !
different game each nite - get some votes in then for suggestions !
how about Kingpin for all the DM fans out there ? and then gotta have some Q2 Lithium /Q3 Team Arena
then there are the not first person shooters......must be time for a racing game - CM2 anyone ? or even something like Age Of Empires 2 ?
soo many to choose from and only 7 nites to a week

bleedin phone didn't stop ringing all night and we had friends over so I couldn't stay long.
I have to admit though, for me at least it pales besides UT (don't want an argument Steve - just my personal view ) too slow, over too quick and graphically/aurally miles behind.

i agree that CS might not be the best graphics about - check out Q3 Team Arena but i dont play CS cos of its grpahics - you aint got that much time to appreciate them when u r playing !
i just think the weapons and gameplay plus the maps are far better than UT (and Quake etc as well)
if you want a quick game then its gotta be Q3 and Q3 Team Arena !

Dont know what the problem was, but it was trying to download some patch tonight, kept dropping my connection.

I turned on the downloads in the end as it then gives you a clue what it's doing, otherwise you just get a connect failed. So robski - I did you a favour really since you now know you need to download stuff
A good night, but not as busy as some others, perhaps people had not gotten the bonus packs in time (although 2 weeks warning is fair )

Yep, bit down on numbers last night.
I was out till late and the rest of the usuall suspects from the office didn't play.

Steve, I normally play on the BarrysWorld servers..but not CS so much now...just FLF.
I really recommend the FrontLineForce mod for Half-Life !
It's a cross between TFC and CS.....more 'fun' as you don't have to sit out the round if killed
No money to mess around with either...just select from available weapons for your player class.

I was in Leeds on Wednesday so couldn't join in, but last night did build my new 950 so am looking forward to next week .....
If I want to try CS, do I have to buy Half life then download the 80 megs !?

Its a program called halfstats which just parses the logfiles and generates the stats from that.

I've left it on a bonus pack level so if you can't connect or it starts downloading stuff you know you haven't got the packs applied.
Download the packs, and then double click the umod files contained in the zipfile. Should bring up the unreal installer. All except one pack where you extract a couple of maps to the maps directory.
mail me at lee@siwd.net if you get stuck.
