Given that the law seems more geared to protecting the criminal, I would say that is probably is illegal. Nice idea though

I would say yes.

A security guard successfully prosecuted someone who wired up their car door handles to give a shock to anyone touching them.

Yes, it's illegal. That's considered unnecessary force...

Can't have the poor thieving scum hurting themselves now, can we?

Common Assault with Intent - big trouble - sorry.

On a bad day could even be classed as GBH.

Wait in the bushes and batter the coonts with a baseball bat - then nick their wallets, claim you where robbing them, that they made you scared and claim a million squid compensation.

I like the stake out idea.

Instead of beating the hell out of them (which IS a good idea) Take some sneaky snapshots of them.

Photgraphic evidence, that goes a long way

Put superglue on your door handles! Then the would be thief can't get away from your car.

Only issue is if the theif doesn't come, you forget that you put glue on the handle ans stick yourself to the car

Razor Blade is fine as long as you put up a prominent sign giving warning - isnt it??

Pete - not in this green and pleasant land it isn't any more.

Some solicitors now use the tack of "putting the sign up means you knew all about the danger to others so you're liable".

I think there's been a case where someone attempting to break in to a house got attacked by the owner's dog. There were signs up saying "beware of the fierce dog" or similar and they tried to sue the guy for having a known dangerous animal. If there was no sign, it would be their tough luck!!

Crazy isn't it?!

Can't we just kill these thieving b@st@rds and drop them in one of your reactors - let the do gooders try to fish out the evidence!!

Cheers,
Steve
