GPL - This week's hotlap track - Watkins Glen
#1
Seems I have the honour of choosing the next track, a bit like I-Spy
I've really whimped out here, I've just done a league race at the Glen so am zoned in on this track
I did a 1:05:32 in qualifying trim last night using the Eagle, and I have been quicker in the Lotus. I expect the fastest time to be a 1:04 (and not by me)
Good luck & get practicing

Nice choice of track Kernel.
If we are going to do a race at some point, I've just been introduced to a great bit of software by some of the guys in one of the leagues I run that allows voice conversations during the race.
It acts like a CB essentially, so you all "tune in" to a particular channel (passworded if necessary) and everyone who connects that channel can talk and listen. Check out the

I haven't tried either GameVoice or RogerWilco. I would expect it to interfere with slow links. However many people limit their modem to 28K improve GPL online. This implies a good conection and we could race and talk, the later in a very limited way.
Perhaps Christian, as you have the ADSL, you would consider hosting a race. We could try either voice package and if they don't work forget about them.
As to the task in hand, I have a 1:05.05 lap, again using the Lotus. Just need to find that 0.06 secs to get into the 4's

OK...
I personally dislike this track, but at least it's short! lol
Thought I better put this up before it's obliterated...
Spent VERY little time on this circuit and just did a 1:04.73 which is about a second quicker than my previous best.. so it'll all go to help the GPLRankings!

Simon, I knew you would be able to go quicker, Rouen has always been by best track relatively speaking.
I will have another go, I'm desperate to get into the 4's. Done 3 laps now quicker than 1.05.1 so it should be possible.
If anyone is around later, I'll fire up my GPL server, say about 8:45pm. I'll mention scoobynet in the server details so you can spot it. I can only support 5 or 6 peeps so if it gets busy and I need to keep riff-raff out I'll password protect it with kernel.
Hope some of you will be able to pop in for a race.
Cheers kernel

I'm sorry but I'm not going to get any chance to have a go this week (not that expected to get below 1.05 anyway) as I'm going for a blast down through Wales tomorrow and then on to Don Palmer's course at Milbrook on Saturday. Unfortunately I am not driving, but going along as an interested passenger in a Evo 6 RSX
I can probably host a race for up to about 8 of us at some point next week (possibly Wednesday), if there are any takers?
Cheers,
Christian

Well Simon, I'm not going to beat you this week I have at last beaten the 1:05 But my 1:04.74 can't beat you. So Close but so Far
I see no one turned up for a practice on Tuesday night Still I had fun thrashing all comers. Sadly I can't make wednesday nights, out and about.
As it's so close Simon I will have another go tomorrow, my lap was not clean but I know I will struggle to beat it.

Don't know why but I couldn't get the HREF to work on the previous post
Managed the first time but not now. Someone give me a pointer to what I need to do for this to work reliably, please.

Hi Chaps
Kernel!! How close!?!?!?! My god!
I will give it a proper go at some point over the weekend then just in-case.
Sorry about Tueday I ended up with a huge amount of work to do what with denial of service attacks, etc
Would definitely be up for a race though whenever anyone is going off to vroc.
You could ICQ me if like on 98132099 or email simon@scoobynet.co.uk
Cheers

Hi...
OK... I've confused myself some how...
I think my best is ACTUALLY 1:04.74 no .73..
I'm not sure how I've done this, but my best lap does appear to be 1:04.74
sorry for the confusion.
This also means that we are neck and neck kernel.

In fact!!... kernel.. your time is a few thousandths quicker than mine!!! (DAMN! )
if you haven't already got it, get spygirl and overlay our two laps they are staggeringly close all the way through.
re href...
HTML is not allowed on ScoobyNet so I am sure it wouldn't have worked on the previous thread.. but...
if you simply type a url, it will convert it anyway.
alternatively, you can use UBB code
Cheers

LOL, but you really shouldn't make up times to get to the top of the tree
I will get a copy of Spygirl and watch the 2 together, sounds great fun.
Good luck trying to go quicker I will also have another go but don't feel I have much, if anything left.

Simon,
I've been trying to download your lap to view the side by side replay using SpyGirl but I just get an error, not found.
Please can you check it out.
