Worlds Strongest Man
#1
thought i'd chuck this thought on here as theres a few weights/sports ppl floating around.
watched the contest tonight and its interesting that mainstream TV show it but no major sponser outside of bodybuilding will touch it (bit like Mr Olympia, etc) not likley to see the Pepsi Strongest Man show are we? not when the contestants die at 29 we aint!
do we watch this and other similar stuff knowing that these guys are not natural but accept it as the only way to see big freaky ppl pulling lorries or are most ppl still so naive that they think they are natural? (bit like the olympics i suppose )

Of course they're not natural, is it even tested? Did it state what the 29 yr. old died of?

I missed who they said had died at the end of the program though, can anyone shed light on who it was?

I wouldn't say the contestents are unnatural. I'm sure they have drug tests etc like any international sporting contest.
These blokes are obviously genetically strong, and just dedicate their lives to enhance their natural strength, stamina and abilities. You can't knock 'em for it! (not to their faces anyway)

the dead guy was ex WWF chap called John Perry (died of a "heart attack")
most strong man contests dont drug test (same as the big bodybuilding shows) the worlds strongest man apparently tests for speed which used to be used by some ppl, it doesnt test for steroids which ppl inside the sport estimate to be used by 70% of international competitors (fair to assume that if thats a figure from inside it may be conservative)
do some research and some of the drug use by these guys makes pro bodybuilders look pretty clean!
