I currently have a 4 way mains extender from the plug on one side of my room to the TV. It has TV, Digibox, amp, video and aerial booster plugged into it.

I'm now looking at adding a PS2, should I just get a 6 way extender or are there any better/safer ways of doing it?

cheers,

greg

6 way should be ok. Don't daisy-chain another multiple lead from your current one, and don't put a multi-plug cube onto the end of your current extension lead. It is also not advisable to put a multiple cube at the plug end of your current extension.

It's just safer to do it that way IMO.

Cool

Summary of all the stuff I just said - safest to get a 6-way extension and just replace your current 4-way with it.

I'll go with AWD - daisy chaining multi-plugs is bad news.

With all the kit plugged in, I suggest going for a multi-plug with surge protection and the like. A good DIY shop will have them, although if you have the cash I suggest a Belkin.

Some models have sockets to run your co-ax cable through them, so if your TV antenna gets hit by lightning, it should save your TV and Video. Most of the Belkin models have a Connected Equipment warranty - if a spike blows up your kit, Belkin will cough up to replace or repair them (to a certain limit, but usually a few grand).

Good point Chris - I definitely agree. Get a surge protector. I've been using them for so long that I totally forgot to mention tem.

The most imporant thing is that the total rating of all appliences plugged in should NOT exceed 13 amps.

OR WORSE

Some 4 way blocks or extension leads are only rated to 5 amps!
