stop it !!! please.

why do people do this? It only needs me to catch a glimpse of Fluorescent in a car and I ease off incase its the copps - and anyway surely its annoying to you as it reflects onto your rear windscreen, making your view worse.

tell me Im not the only one thats getting p1ssed off by this??

I also have noticed this, although more with hard hats. I think the driver is trying to make a statement :

"hey girls, I'm a sucessful engineer/surveyor/site agent...etc,etc, but I still go and do the rufty tufty stuff on building sites"

personally i would pop it in the boot.

I do not own one of these jackets, but if I did and found (by some bizarre reason) that if by putting it on the rear shelf there would be less hassle from tailgaiters, then I'd keep it there

My other half's got a fluorescent yellow jacket and keeps it in the boot for the most part, but the other week she wore it while she was out on site and found that people were much more courteous and moved out of the way when she wore it in the car. Good way to get rid of tailgaters, IMHO...

Cool

You'll notice you get a similar effect if you drive a white/silver vectra, especially if you have a white shirt on

I once knew a guy who was in the "specials" who went out of his way to make his company car (at the time it was a blue Cavalier) look like a CID car.
He would stick his Police logo yellow jacket on his seatback, with an extra rear view mirror stuck on the windscreen and an aerial positioned on the rear quarter panel by the boot lid.

You would not believe the amount of times, and what, he use to get away with, just by flashing his warrant card when pulled over for some dangerous driving.

My flourcesent jacket is hidden in the boot. I do find people get out the way though on the motorway which may be due to the speed I drive or of course they think mine is one of the unmarked silver bugeyes that lurk around!

Aye - usually kept in the boot, but there are occasions where I'm doing short trips and in/out the car all the time or have to get out the car by a busy road so I wear it or have it for easy access I must admit:

a) I'm let out more;
b) No-one is magnetically attracted to my rear bumper and
c) The cars in front travel at the correct speed limit! lol!

However the greatest effect comes when I play with the speed gun

Wink

People think I'm a bin man when I wear mine

Except for the misses, she thinks it's sexy and I have to wear it to bed.
