Question

I know it was available at that price a while back, but is anywhere still doing TiVos for less than a ton? Dixon's are advertising them for £99, but are out of stock when you try and order one. Bennets are doing them for £148, but that sounds a little steep.

Any suggestions?

Oh, and for anyone who tries to tell me I want Sky+, don't bother - I've done the research, read the threads, and I don't want it, thanks.

The Tivo forum normally has details of cheapest places they are currently going for

I've had mine for about 6 months now (got it with the £99 offer ) and love it

Been looking for one too since I saw this saying that they're discontinued and therefore going cheap.

Article says this -
TiVo's UK manufacturing partner, Thomson, will cease production of the PVR devices shortly, having reconsidered its partnership.

This decision has led to substantial price-cuts around the UK as stockists attempt to clear their supplies.

iTVt reports that following the decision, TiVo is now in discussion with new partners over the manufacture of its' device. A new deal would essentially bring the same product to the market, but in a different box. The PVR has a normal retail price of GBP200 (E313).

Sony and Phillips both make TiVos in the US, so I suspect they'll take over the hardware market over here.

Mark - you can buy the Sony one here but it isnt cheap!

It is alot better than the Tivo though - to be expected from Sony! Same as any new technology, the big players will all get involved and prices will fall.
